RCIBA Connect & Kickoff
RCIBA's kickoff event will provide an opportunity for the diverse RC student body (i.e., all years, different specialists, international-domestic, exchange students) to connect and learn about RCIBA. Uniquely featuring food and popular games from around the world, we will help break the ice and get students interacting in a fun and collaborative way. The event will also include a brief speech about RCIBA, what we do, and how new students can participate in our events.
Exchange Orientation with RCSA
Exchange Orientation with RCSA
RCIBA, partnering with RCSA and RC Academic services, will host an orientation event and 3-4 campus tours specifically for new exchange students arriving at UofT in the first week of September. The orientation event, including casual networking and a panelist session from current RC students, will serve as a launch pad for exchange students to start budding friendships and ease into RC life, clubs, and academics. During the first few weeks of September, volunteers from both RCIBA and RCSA will lead campus tours (ex. in the form outdoor scavenger hunts), providing an opportunity for exchange students to explore and familiarize themselves with popular areas of the UofT campus while socializing with their peers.
Alumni Social
Alumni Social
Brings together students and RCIBA/RCBDA alumni in a relaxed and conversational setting. Focused on dialogue and sharing advice to inform and inspire prospective RCIBA/RCBDA members interested in pursuing business design or global career opportunities as part of an international RC network.
Going Global
Going Global
Going Global, co-hosted with RC Academic Services, is an informative and engaging event designed for students who are considering or interested in studying abroad. Attendees will learn necessary information about the exchange experience, including how to apply, the countries available for exchange, and how exchange credits would work. Students will also have the opportunity to hear real exchange experiences from students who have studied abroad(s) or are currently in the process, providing direct insights into what it’s really like to live and study abroad. Students will leave with new connections to support them on their global adventure.
Horizons Case Competition
Horizons Case Competition
This case competition will bring together students from Rotman Commerce and Schulich for a one-day event. Teams will analyze a globally relevant business case and present strategic recommendations to a panel of judges, including faculty and industry professionals. The event will feature networking sessions, workshops, and judge feedback, offering students a competitive and educational experience.
Skyline Soirée
Skyline Soirée
Skyline Soirée is the Rotman Commerce International Business Association’s flagship networking event, hosted annually at various picturesque and unique venues in the heart of Downtown Toronto. This evening open networking event bridges passionate Rotman Commerce students with a diverse array of industry professionals who bring extensive international experience, allowing meaningful connections to be established over complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages and enjoyed against the view of the city’s skyline.
RCIBA Mentorship Capstone
RCIBA Mentorship Capstone
The RCIBA Hiring Event will be the last event of our junior mentorship program, and will provide an amazing opportunity for students to learn about the various roles within RCIBA. The event will start with a presentation detailing the associate and executive roles within RCIBA (Corporate Relations, Marketing, Events, Professional Development, Finance). A networking session will then follow allowing students to get to know one another and speak to current RCIBA members about their experience with the club.
International Career Expo
International Career Expo
The International Career Expo is a large-scale event in partnership with RC Academic Services, intended to showcase students who have been on an international exchange. The convention will feature various booths consisting of students who have been to different universities across the world. They will speak on their experiences and struggles as a way to teach fellow students about some of the nuances of an exchange. In addition to this, the event will also feature a keynote speaker who will be speaking in the background. This speaker will expand on emerging markets across the world, offering RC students a unique glimpse into up and coming market trends. Lastly, the event will also speak on the importance of EDI and sustainability to maintain international relationships.
